You need:
• replacement valve
• Ball pump
• Repair kit
Before you think about changing the valve, you should check if the valve is broken. Instead, the ball could have a hole, or you use too thin a ball needle when inflating.
The valve must be completely visible. If not, the ball must be prepared beforehand. Valve replacements are possible with most balls, but not all. It could be problematic, especially with balls from before the year 2000. Adidas balls from 2011 also do not work.
First, the old valve is removed from the ball. This requires some practice. Professionals remove valves with a simple pliers. However, the valve could tear into several pieces, some of which remain in the ball. The use of a special tool is advisable.
This is what a valve inside the valve holder looks like from the inside. The tip of the puller deforms the wide rubber ring of the valve that holds it in place.
The old valve is definitely damaged after removal with the tool.
A universal valve for soccer balls, volleyballs, and basketballs can be used as a new valve. These have a slightly smaller ring and are easier to install.
The new valve is evenly pressed into the ball until it snaps into its desired position. The process is easier if the valve has been moistened with saliva or valve oil.
Now, the ball is inflated and checked for leaks. If the ball loses air, the valve is probably not properly snapped in. Then the process must be repeated.

My sons ball the valve has been hidden by the ball and I can’t locate it, any idea how to find it?
Paul Schmidt says
Hi Carl! This can be really tricky. Most of the time the valve is not far from its hole. You could try to find it with a ball needle. Just put it into the hole and push it carefully on some spots until you feel the entrance from the valve itself. I can give you further advice if you send me a picture to info@ball-one.de.
Kind regards!
